“Tiru riru[...]” is a unexpected sound experience for it’s listeners and for artists. The main goal of project “Tiru riru[...]” was to enable its participants, namely children from socially disadvantaged environments, to create sounds, makeing their own musical intruments and finaly experience traditional folk music, as well as electroacoustic and electronic music improvisation. The consequence of this sound activity was this unique recording session. Apart from gaining the basic knowledge about the aforementioned music genres, along with the history and psychology of music, the children had an opportunity to meet artists and traditional culture researchers, to participate in the construction of instruments and to try their hand on stage at the Zachęta National Gallery of Art in Warsaw.
“Tiru riru[...]” is a project run in the first half of 2011 in Lublin and Warsaw (Zachęta National Gallery of Art) by the Catholic Society for People in Need AGAPE, in partnership with the Art and Technology Foundation and the Music of the Frontier Foundation. Financial support for the project was provided by the Orange Academy.
This project produced a CD: Tiru Riru – \\\”Dźwiękowa podróż od tradycji do awangardy\\\” (2011), published by WEFREC label.
